The Healthy Woman: Intro to a 5-Parter on Proverbs 31

We think of the healthy woman as waking up early, going to the gym, eating everything organic, being a size ___ (you fill in the blank because everyone has different thoughts on the ideal size), and taking a multi-vitamin every day.  Now, I am not going to argue with this, but lately I have been doing some thinking on what it means to be a healthy woman and mom in the world of Facebook, elliptical machines, and apps.  So many things clutter our lives and our calendars, and technology makes life so much “easier”.  But how were we created to live?  What does a healthy person look like in the eyes of our Creator?

For those of you who are familiar with Proverbs 31, you know that it is a guideline to what the ideal woman should be like.  This concept sounds kind of flakey, and I will admit that I have not really paid a whole lot of attention to it in the past because --let’s get real-- none of us are the perfect woman.  However, I read it again recently and found that there are great little tidbits of wisdom that stick out in terms of being healthy.   I will be doing a 5-part series on Proverbs 31, showing how it can be applied to today’s healthy woman.  Stay tuned.
