Friday Fit Tips: Securely Fit

This week was our 3rd week of The Kailo Class.  Here are the 2 tips we talked about:

Baby Tip:  An recent study suggests that kids who aren't securely attached to their parents by age 2 are more likely to be obese by age 4 and a half.  Continue to bond with your baby through activities like walks and dancing and things that keep you moving too!

Mom Tip:  Breastfeeding moms get the benefit of having a super fast metabolism.  However, when the baby starts to wean, metabolism will start to slow down as well.  Make sure you are eating for what your body needs. You can also offset this metabolism change by continuing to build muscle.  The more muscle you have the more calories you will burn throughout the day!  Doing exercises while holding your baby as an added weight will help you build muscle and help your baby build security.

This fall, we walked as a family for Forgotten Voices.  Having family rituals and traditions help create security and build bonds that will help your children become securely attached to you as parents.
