That is what Hollywood seems to be sometimes: who can starve themselves the most to win the part or get publicity. I recently read an article on FoxNews.com about how some critics are saying Jennifer Lawrence is too "fat" for the role of Katniss in "The Hunger Games" trilogy. Have you seen the girl?? She is beautiful, healthy, and strong.
I read all three books of the trilogy and have seen the movie that recently came out. My only thought about casting Jennifer for the part was that she was taller than I expected (or maybe just compared to Peeta), because in the books her smallness is referenced. However, when making a movie there needs to be some creativity in how to portray a character, so I am willing to let that go. Katniss is a heroine who has very strong character and determination, not to mention that she was a hunter who did not go hungry because she could provide for her family. Therefore, she was a great choice for the job.
I like Jennifer as Katniss Everdeen and as a role model for young girls and women. She has a healthy self-image, exercises, and does not diet. I hope and pray Hollywood doesn't change that.
